Thanksgiving Break

The last few weeks have been super busy.  We visited family for Thanksgiving and now we're getting ready for Christmas!  Here are some fun pictures from our trip (and this week too, since we are slackers).

"Exactly how long will this drive be again?"

We stopped for gas in Flagstaff.  Carter wasn't sure what to think of the cold.  The temperature dropped 40 degrees over the two hour drive.

Hiking

"I said no more pictures!"

The Magic Leaf
(Carter was angry because we wouldn't let him walk around--there were  steep drops off the trail.  This leaf was the only thing that would keep him happy)

"Is it nap time yet?"

Four-wheeling

Learning how to drive the four-wheeler
"Wheeee!"
Time to get off.
"Don't!"

Fishing
The mighty fisherman triumphs!

"Sit back dad, I'll show you how it's done."

"You guys are too slow.  I can do it myself!"

Carter loved running up and down this ramp.
"Can we get one of these at our house?'

Introducing....JT4
(Carter decided to add himself as a new contact in Uncle Jess' phone.  He selected as his alias, JT4)

Not the best picture but this is us before our ward Night in Bethlehem.  Dad decided since he is the ward  financial clerk he should be Caesar.

Halloween!

For our avid fans, aka both sets of grandparents, sorry there wasn't a blog last week.  Blame Century Link.  Here is the latest round of cute pictures of Carter...and we're in some of them too.

Curse these blasted chickenpox!
This was taken during the chickenpox incident as well.  Carter desperately needed to get out , so we took him to look at the lights.  Okay we just took him outside and he found a light.  He seemed to enjoy himself.

Carter loves technology, but what he loves even better are the cases that hold technology.  This is Carter playing with the camera case.  He also loves to play with dad's iPad case.

Introducing the Rubble family.
The Rubbles and the Flintstones.

Carter trick or treating with Daddy.  Dad carries the candy, Carter eats it, and he doesn't even share.

SKITTLES! I can taste the rainbow! (see no sharing)

"So...we went to random houses, we asked for candy, and they gave it to us.  Why aren't we doing this everyday?"

Carter got invited to a birthday party this week.  He had a great time with the balloons until ....

In a completely unprovoked event, one of the balloons savagely attacked him with explosive force leaving him emotionally and physically scarred.  (Okay, really he just dug his fingernails into the balloon until it popped.  It actually smacked him in the face when it popped and left him with a pretty good sized welt.)

Poor buddy.

CHICKEN POX!

This week Carter got Chicken Pox.  He got the vaccine a week ago at his 12 month Doctor appointment,  however, since the incubation period is 10-21 days, he probably already had it when he got the shot.

Date Night!
We got an invite to a local Medical Society meeting/dinner.  We had a lot of fun there with some of our friends.

Carter practicing tying shoes....or rather, untying shoes.

Riding the train!

Trying out Dad's new OMM table, aka Carter's runway.

We love the park!  Here we are riding on the purple dinosaur, Carter's favorite.

"Car rides make me so tired."

Carter loves to sing and dance with Mom's ipod.
(the video is kind of long, he does most of his dancing at the beginning and end).

Scaring your child:  There's an app for that.

Learning to share...sort of.

Birthday Time and other fun

Recently MWU had their annual White Coat ceremony.  This is a big day where all of the first year students get their fancy doctor jacket.  These are some of our friends on the big day.

Peak-a-boo...I can still see you, but you're blue!

"It's gonna blow!"

Playing Fetch.  Who needs a dog?

Carter helping dad prepare for his anatomy test.

Piano duels.

"I love rocks!"

October 13, 2012, 8:00 AM.  The first time we actually had to wear a jacket in Arizona.  Dad still has not succumbed.

Going shopping for birthday cake.
Carter: "Pringles are sure tasty!"
Alicia: "You ate them all?!"

Raising the Dark Knight...nuh nuh nuh nuh nuh nuh nuh nuh BATMAN!

The Birthday Celebrations
Since both grandmas and Carter's grandpa Batty were down for the White coat ceremony we had some of his birthday celebration a little early.  Unfortunately, with both grandma's taking pictures we completely spaced to take them.  Hence the lack of photos for that time....sorry.
Carter getting ready to start his first art project.

The final product.

Birthday dinner.  Chicken nuggets, tater tots, and green beans.

PRESENTS!!!!
Carter picked this one out himself.  We held up 4 different colors and he tapped on the green one.  That was good enough for us.

Carter loves to steal the remotes.  Grandma and Grandpa Batty gave him his very own.  He was pretty happy that he didn't have to share anymore.

Carter puts everything in his mouth...Everything...except the toothbrush.

Carter testing out his new Toy Story bubble bath.

The train.  Ever since Carter played with one of these at his friend's house, he has been pushing everything around the house.  Grammy got the hint and got him a train for his birthday.

Party Time!!!
Let them eat cake!

Shove the cake in...use a spoon for the ice cream.

No more cake?!

Riding the horse at Peter Piper Pizza.

Thank you Danny for the monkey.

Riding forward facing for the first time.  Not a fan.  He loves it now though.  He was just tired after all the fun.

Cousins on a train.

Carter finds a new way to use the train.
