Moving and Other Random Stuff

Here are a few pictures from our move. We hope that you will enjoy them.

This is the last day as a family in Logan.  This is the front of our very first apartment.  Notice all the tile.

Playing at the Splash park in Hurricane.

Here we are at the new apartment waiting on the boys to get here with all the stuff.

Toys! First thing that got unpacked.

Here is Craig in front of the school where he will be spending the next four years.

Swimming in our new pool!

Carter loves looking through the ads.

"Boy this moving business is hard work."

Lake Powell!

A few weeks ago we headed on our annual family trip to Lake Powell.  We spent a week on the lake before moving to Arizona.  Here are some of the pictures from our trip.

On the way down Carter decided that he was ready for a break.  We pulled off at Cove Fort to allow him to crawl around for a while.  Cove Fort is an old fort that was built by early Mormon settlers near Fillmore, UT.  He didn't really care much for the grass as you can see from his picture.  He kept trying to find somewhere he could put his hand without getting poked by the grass.  He was unsuccessful.

This picture was taken a couple of days into our trip.  Carter decided to start his morning exceptionally early. Paige took him down to the basement of the houseboat so he could crawl around without disturbing anybody else.  He was crawling over the top of mommy when he zonked out.

So tired.

Craig chilling in the Relaxation Station!

Carter wouldn't wear his sunglasses, and Craig lost his in the lake, so he decided to borrow Carter's glasses.  Perfect solution...I think not.

We decided to take Carter for a short ride on the jet skis.  He decided that he was going to drive.

"Get this thing off me!"

Here is a picture of the three of us heading out for a quick ride around the bay.  Carter was screaming when we left but quickly quieted down once we started moving.  When Grandma caught up we realized that he had fallen asleep. Who knew that jet skis are an effective way to get a baby to sleep?

Hanging out on the houseboat.  (Notice the shag on Craig.  You don't get to see that very often.)

The Last Days...in Logan that is

Before we left Logan we decided there were a few adventures we needed to have.  These are some of the pictures from these adventures.

Beginning our hike up to the Jardine Juniper in Logan Canyon.  For those of you who are unfamiliar with the JJ, it is actually the oldest living tree in Utah.  It is hardly alive.  There is only a small section about 30 feet up the tree that actually has foliage.  It is estimated that this tree was alive when the pyramids were being built.

Kyler, Amanda, and Alicia joined us in our adventure.

Our family at the JJ.  The hike is actually 5.2 miles up to the tree with 1800 feet of elevation change.  Needless to say we were pretty tired by this point.

Carter had it easy.  He chilled in the backpack all the way up the mountain.

Carter decided once we got to the top that he would hike around a little bit.

For Paige's last work party with Conservice, we went to the Logan Aquatic Center.  This was Carter's first time swimming.  He enjoyed it quite a bit, but was much more comfortable on the sides that out in the middle.

We also decided that we needed to go to First Dam and feed the ducks before we left Logan.  This is one of  Craig's favorite places to start his runs.

We attempted to feed the ducks, but the seagulls were much more interested in bread than the ducks.  We didn't mind.  We had fun no matter what was biting.

Carter enjoyed the bread a lot more than the birds did!

About to go see the Hyrum City fireworks for the 4th of July.

We loved our time in Logan, and already miss it.  However, we are looking forward to many new adventures here in Arizona.  Pics to follow.

Hello, we are the Batty family.  We are finally starting our blog after thinking of doing it for quite a while.  We just moved to Arizona and wanted to do this as a way to keep in touch with family and friends.  We're going to be here for the next four years as Craig completes medical school at Midwestern University here in Glendale.

The past few months have been very busy for us.  We've done a bit of traveling and moved from Logan to our new home in Glendale.  We're going to post some of the pictures from the past few months along with some new things from our first few weeks here on the surface of the sun.  :)  This should be a lot of fun, and we look forward to sharing our blog with you.
