The first year of quarantine--oh, just April

Catching up on April happenings.
Blogger was having a problem so we have found ourselves way behind on the blog.  Buckle in for a long post about how we kept ourselves occupied during April of the Covid-19 social distancing. :)

Celebrating holidays and birthdays

Hey! What happened to my pants?
No mom, I didn't shrink overnight!
April Fools!

These kids got a kick out of this prank and decided to wear these clothes all day.

Ready for general conference!

We caught the Easter bunny.  Isn't he so cute?

They all found baskets
And made some eggs.

Daddy's birthday!  Hooray!

Love the different expressions in this picture.
Concerned, happy, mischievous, and hungry.

Next year we are going to have to turn off the smoke detectors.

Birthday gift, wrapped by the good workers at Amazon.

Going on Adventures

Went exploring at Fantasy Canyon.

Carter was in heaven.
Finally a playground we can actually play on!
Caleb was unsure what to think at first.

Waving at people.

Pointing at people.

Looking at a car.

Sitting on all the rocks.
"This one is my favorite"

Hello down there!
Look! More rocks!

Carter!  Back up!

Found a lot more to explore

Taking a rest in a cozy cave.

Cool shades.

More hiking.
Caleb is "beeping" Dad's hat.
Beep!
"Does this count as a face mask?"

Ooh!  Secret tunnels!

Took a bike ride out to see some new foals in a nearby field.

Caleb decided he can see a lot more when he stands in the backpack.

Cliff hanger, hanging from a cliff!

These two are best buds.

Tired of standing.  Time to rest.

Carter got tired on the family walk.

Again, no playgrounds, so we have to improvise.

Taking Anna for a walk in the stroller.
(Yes, it's Elsa, but he calls all Frozen characters "Anna")

Why does she always look so mischievous?

Great climbing tree!

Are we there yet?

It's windy up here!

Goofing off with Daddy

We made it!

Cool rock.
Notice the social distance? :)

We spent a lot of time just hanging out in cars (See more of this in the previous and next post)

Taking care of monkey in the back of the truck.

Caleb tolerating sharing the car with big brother.

Eating lunch in the back of the car.

Cruisin'

Making a new friend

One day we were on a family walk and this little cat just started following us.

We made it all the way home and there he was right behind us.

A few days later he came to play with us in our backyard.

Then we took him on another walk.

After the walk he followed us back into the backyard.  So Jayden decided to feed him some milk.

A few days later, Jayden opened the front door and our little friend darted inside and explored around a little.

(Sneak peek from May)
A few days ago, Caleb was hanging out in the car and our friend came to join him.

Caleb didn't like the cat in the car with him.
"I'm outta here!"

Word must have gotten around that we are pretty awesome, because this cat came to visit us too.

The kids made him a cat toy.
So even though we couldn't hang out with people friends, at least we had some animal friends

Planting a garden and playing outside

Caleb was always walking through the little patch of plants over here, so we decided to take action."What do you mean I can't ride my bike through here anymore?"

"Ha ha guys!  I can get through this."

"You can't stop me!"

"Shoot"

"Ha ha!  I found one you haven't fenced off yet!"

"I'm so cute"

When your kids start to get bored....

This would be easier without so much hair

Yay! Leaves and blossoms are popping out!

He loves his bike

He loves wiggle cars too.

Carter, you really are too big for that.

Carter very slowly making his way across the street.  He couldn't move his feet enough to be able to propel himself very fast.
Mom:  "Carter and Jayden, get out of the road, or Caleb is going to follow you!

Carter figured out how to go faster in the car.

Ready for a sweet ride with Grumpy.

Picnics!

Lunches with Dad at work

The kids love meeting Daddy outside his work for lunch.

Of course, plenty of time just hanging around at the house

Caleb wanted to sit in his castle.
"I thought this would be more fun."

The kids' new bedrooms.
Sorry Carter, you get the hallway.

Hanging out with Anna

Peanut butter face!

Time to ride a tiny horse.

Edible finger paint, aka yogurt.

Can Caleb sleep with us?

Chatting on the phone under a table.

Sending silly pictures to friends.

Hide and seek.
Found you!

Eating lots of gummy bears.

Caleb decided to take a bag of his stinky diapers for a spin.

Sister likes to play dress up with Caleb.

So does big brother.
Caleb was not a fan of switching jackets.

Dance parties.
The kids are practicing the "worm."

What do you mean we still can't go anywhere?
(Jk, he was just upset about having to wear this bib in the car).

And don't forget about too much time watching tv!

Caleb LOVES Daniel Tiger

Caleb checking to see when the library will be open again.
Just kidding, it's more Daniel Tiger.  :D
