Highs and Lows

Caleb got his glasses.  Here he is wearing them for the first time.
I think he's happy he can see.

But he had a hard time keeping them on the first day.

Trying to hide the fact that he's not wearing his glasses.

"What? I've got them on."

"I just want a break from my glasses."

"Wow!  There are more things to see in this picture book now."

"Coloring is so much better too!"

"Ok, I can do glasses."

"Except when I'm sleeping."

Jayden hanging out downtown with Grammy

Movie time with our little cousin.

Jayden lost her very first tooth!

Carter was very brave to volunteer for the dunk tank.

Dunked.

These kids love uncle Spencer.

Mom went upstairs to move some laundry.
Caleb thought she was gone too long.

First day of school!

"I'm so excited for kindergarten!"

This kid's ready to crush homeschooling.

Gotta have a cool backpack.

"No! I don't want to be in the picture with you guys!"

Bribing Caleb with raspberries to stay in the picture.

Carter and Jayden off for school.

Discovery Elementary, here I come!

Caleb decided he wants to go to school too.

Dropping Jayden off on her first day of kindergarten.

Carter and Jayden making a spin art machine.  Complete with a motor, resistors and a breadboard.

They had a blast building this.

Caleb likes school time too.

After dropping Jayden off at school, Carter decided to gather sticks and build himself a nest.

Carter is learning a lot at home.
One important lesson:  Don't set up a command block, controlled with a lever, to spawn Giants and Iron Golems.  With hundreds of mobs being spawned at a ridiculous rate, there was no way to get back to the lever to shut it off.
Carter exercised some serious problem solving skills this day.

Had to try on our church clothes to make sure they fit.
Lookin' good dude.  Cheers.

Caleb thinks this is how you do a piggy back ride.

Just playing out on the lawn, enjoying some nice weather.

Working with grumpy on a car.

A visit to Grammy's house isn't complete without some serious climbing.

Grumpy decided to make a better solution for Carter's need to climb.

A peg board!  Carter loved it.

Done with climbing.  Now for some acrobatics off Grammy's table.

Pool time!

So cute!

Caleb loves hanging out with Grumpy and Tuesday.

Catching some snakes.

Hanging out with cousin.
"Where's the food?"

Grandma Batty got a cake to celebrate Jayden's birthday a day early.
She loved being sung to.

One of her favorite birthday gifts was purchased at the dollar store.

Almost all of them asleep.

This month was rough. We lost a dear member of our family.
We are going to miss Grandpa Batty, more than we can express.

Caleb enjoyed the funeral with Grumpy from afar so he could release his wiggles.

I like this bench.

It was a very cold and windy day.
Who knew we should have brought our coats to Hurricane in September.

And if it's cold in Hurricane......
It's snowing in Vernal.
Crazy day of weather.

A day late, we are celebrating the birthday girl!

Birthday hot chocolate.

Per the birthday girl's request, birthday KFC.

"What?  I like drumsticks."

Birthday Coldstone.

Delicious

Silly faces.

Jayden loved opening her presents.

"A watch!!!"

"I love it!"

Lucky girl.

Off to a community event, Caleb catches sight of something exciting...

Fire trucks!!!!

"Come on mom! Let's look at this one too!"

Carter can actually see over the dashboard in this truck.

Trying out the fire hose.
Good aim!

The kids, of course, loved trying out the fire pole.

Even Jayden, although she was a little nervous the first time.

Trying out the jaws of life on a piece of rebar.

Hey, I think this guy needs help.

Let's pull him to safety.

Even with two of them, it was slow going.

My job is to just look cute in this hat.

Thanks Naples Fire Department!

Being a sneak at the park.
"Ha ha! Ok you caught me."

Jayden reading to her little brother.

Found an American Giant Water Bug at the library, also known as a "toe biter"!
We kept our toes away.

Caleb in his favorite hiding place.

Jayden's teacher sent a picture of the horses Jayden drew at school.
Good work J!

Carter's tumbling class started.

He loved it!

These kids got roped into dancing together.

Just the whole family hanging out with Caleb in one of his favorite places.  The car.
As long as it's not driving anywhere.
