The first three months of the year

It doesn't snow often here, but when it does, the kids love it!

They love taking the opportunity to shovel the driveway.
(Even if it would have all melted away in a few hours anyway.)

Paige practicing her divining skills.
Who needs a stud finder when you have two pins?
Bullseye.

The kids set up what turned out to be quite a successful candy stand.

Caleb did some extra jobs around the house so he could buy himself some candy.

Still best buddies.

Carter trying an oyster for the first time.
Brave boy.

Silly fun.

Yay! More snow!

Caleb didn't want to wear his suit coat home from church.
Jayden carried it for him and decided it made a great addition to her outfit.

Time to visit Grammy.
Look at all this snow!!!

Whee!

Whoa!!

No thank you.  I'll go down the safe way.

Let's just throw the snow, not slide on it!

We finally convinced him to sled down the hill.
He LOVED it!

Jayden got to visit Aunt Roger on a film set.

Let the Grammy times begin!

Fun activities

Awesome prizes

And yummy treats!

Meanwhile....

The rest of us decided to go skiing/snowboarding while Caleb was off having fun.

Let's do this!

Alright!

This was Jayden's first time skiing.
Daddy stuck with her and helped her get her skiis under her.

Ugg.  This is hard work.

After a very short while, she was a pro.
"Can we go to the big hills now?"

Carter still tearing it up on his snowboard.

Yay! We finally convinced Mom to come up with us to the big hills!

Time to go.  We had fun!

Hey guys, I'm back!!

Carter's turn!

Working on a fish fossil.

Withstanding a tornado!

Meanwhile....

Yum!

Jayden beating Mom at board games.

Legos!

Look at mine!

Jayden beating Mom and Dad at board games.

Hey Grammy.....
(We don't know where this came from, but it was well done)

Jayden's Grammy time means visiting her little sister.

And goofing off with Uncle Spencer.

Making yummy treats

And eating them too!

Meanwhile.....

Watch out Caleb!!
"Ewww."

We were sad Jayden missed our trip to the new Red Cliffs Temple open house.

We love to see the temple.
Especially one a little closer!

Carter playing on a $200,000 piano.
Sounded great!

Mom and Carter played a whole year of Payday.
Carter won.

We had to take pictures of Caleb's art work before we threw them away.

Our Diablo team!
Matching uniforms intimidate the enemy.

It's Valentine's Day!

Heart waffles

Heart grilled cheese sandwiches.
Jayden actually decided she wanted a Texas shaped grilled cheese.

Jayden's valentine box.
Don't let it lick you when you deliver your valentine!

Carter's valentine box was part robot and dispensed gumballs to you.

Minecraft!!!!!!!!!!!

We went downstairs to check on the kids one night and found this set up.
That unfinished half of the basement gets scary sometimes.

Caleb got sick but refused to acknowledge it.
Even as he just laid around doing nothing.

Ok, I'll admit I'm sick if it means I get to play more videogames!

Come on Mommy!  Don't worry, we are safe.

Never mind!  RUN!!!!!

Ready for church.

Ready for dinner.
Caleb was very helpful and set the table by himself.

We love hanging out with our co-op friends!

Uncle Spencer has a dark plan to turn these boys into his gamer buddies.

Yay! Snow again!

Hmmm...What mischief can we accomplish now?

Craig got to drive to Arizona with his brother to see some baseball games.
Brother time!

Caleb's old bike (which was Jayden's bike, which was Carter's bike) broke down.
So we finally got him a new one.

Jayden decided it was time to chop her hair off.
Looking good baby!

Caleb's work desk.

Mom, I working!  You need to leave me alone!

Sibling jam session!

Carter was interested in learning the coding language C++
so he put a book on hold at the library.
It was a lot bigger than he imagined!

Enjoying some sunshine and inventing a new language together.

We decided to sew our own teddy bears today.
It was tricky, but we had fun!

This boy has been very stubborn about participating in washing himself in the tub.
So we made a deal.  As soon as he gives himself five baths, he doesn't have to take naps anymore.

About eight months later, he finally did it!
No more naps!

Dr. Caleb working on a sick patient.

"Don't worry, this will only hurt for a little while."

We are having our roof torn off to fix some dry rot around the eaves.
We decided to gather the aluminum shingles and turn them into the metal recycling.
This was a little less than half of what came off the back side of the roof.  There was another pile in the front.  It was more work than we thought.

Nice tidy piles. We are finally done.

Carter has been practicing catching lizards.
He's quite good at it now.

Swing batter batter!
Caleb was excited to find Mom's old softball helmet.

A field trip to Pipe Springs.
Jayden is considering purchasing this vehicle.

Dad is considering purchasing this house.
Comes with a fireplace and open floorplan!

Caleb was tired at the end of the field trip.
"Can we go home now?"

We got the kids their own sets of dishes so we can tell who didn't clean up after themselves.
They have been loving them so far!

Happy Easter!
Caleb really is happy about his Easter basket.
This is just him posing for the picture.

Poor Jayden had to look a LONG time for her basket.
She was very sad, but kept searching and finally found it.
She didn't want her sad eyes in the picture.

I want a picture like that too!!

And now my real face!!
