Time for some fun

With the basement done, it's time to move in and start the upstairs bedrooms.
Our new family room became part master bedroom...

And part office.

Time to clear out the bedrooms.
Daddy broke the desk!

Taking off the old window trim.

And taking out the old carpet.

And sweeping out all the dirt we found underneath!

Covering up the old, yellowed paint with some primer.

And now a splash of color.

We didn't take any good after pics of the rooms.  But they are looking good!

Filling the new rooms up with some new furniture.
New furniture comes with a lot of mess.

But the boxes are great to play with!!

And Dad made this cool table for the basement
so we can kick the laptops out of the office

After all that work, it's time to take a break and enjoy ourselves.

Craig has had this Titanic Lego set for three years now and has finally started putting it together.

Jayden can finally change her earrings!
She's loving having pierced ears.

Caleb found this jacket in a bag of DI clothes before Mom could look through it and send the rest away.
He insisted this 2T jacket fits him just fine.
He does look pretty cool in it.

Jayden is starting to learn how to sew.
It only took us an hour and a little help from family to figure out how to get this machine set up.

Mmm.....Cheesy

Mom making Caleb smile for a picture.

Candy at Grammy's house.  Lucky kiddos.

Uncle Spencer and these kids made a throne.
There were many kids who came along afterward and took a turn sitting in it.
It's probably the coolest thing those blocks have made.

Off with their head!

A princess beloved by all in the land.

You think you can take this throne from me?

Jayden found more of her relatives

They want to adopt her.

A Merry Christmas 3D vase.
If it breaks, just put it back together.

Can't remember why he's making this face.

Goofing off on the Merry-go-round.

Caleb also goofing off on the Merry-go-round.

Adorable.

The kids were baffled when this package arrived
and I told them it was our new computer.

Ready to watch the Super Bowl!!

These kids were convinced it wasn't that hard to stay up for the entire night.
So we made a little wager.
If they last the night, they get $50.  If they fall asleep, they do mom's chores for 2 weeks.

Midnight was the deadline to pull the plug without any consequence.

They did pretty well.

Jayden almost made it, but she made the mistake of listening to an audiobook.
Her brother was supposed to keep her awake.

Carter made it. Jayden was so close.

Betrayed by the candy cane she thought would keep her awake.

Carter was fine all morning, but by afternoon he was wiped out.

He started to wake up,
but then fell back asleep.

Carter's winnings were just enough to be able to buy this Occulus
that he has been saving for for over a year.
He's pretty happy.

Caleb's valentines for his class.

Jayden's valentine box.

Carter's valentine robot.

Carter's cute partner for our etiquette meal (snack).

Jayden's partner was pretty cute too.

Learning how to line dance.

The girls started a conga line.

After a while, the boys decided it did look like fun after all and took the lead.

Mom found this in Caleb's backpack and asked if it was a valentine for her.
Caleb shrugged his shoulders and said "I guess."
Mom displayed it on the piano and a few days later, Caleb informed her that he was taking it for himself.
Mom was sad and requested he at least let her take a picture of it.
"Ok, fine."

Our friends came in town for a soccer tournament.
His team won the whole thing!  It was so fun to watch!

It was a little chilly, but we came prepared.

Jayden also had an orchestra concert.

What a cute violinist.

Good job Jayden!!

"Can we go yet?"

Celebratory ice cream!

"What are you looking at?"

Going to the temple with our friends.

Balancing on a soda can.

Dad showing Jayden how to crumple it.

We went to a benefit dance concert that helped raise money to help a family in our neighborhood.
It was a lot of fun!

"It's past my bedtime."

Uncle Spencer came to visit!
And he brought toys!!

Caleb was planning all week for a Saturday night cookout.

It was a success!!
