Sunroof in December...take that Utah!

This weekend we decided to enjoy the good weather by taking a trip to the zoo and to see the Christmas lights at the Mesa Temple.

Time to open the sun roof.  Oh yeah!
Not bad for mid December.

Carter loved feeling the wind blow on him.

But when we got on the free way it got a little crazy.

Monkeys at the zoo.  No, not us....next picture.

Run!!!

Learning to play leap frog

Those are nice trees.
"Look Mommy, an Emu."

"No, right there!"

Secret tunnels!

Bug was enjoying a nice ride on her daddy's shoulders. I believe she is wearing her third outfit of the trip by this point. :)

"No! You're going the wrong way!"

Peakaboo

"If you come over here, I'll share my graham crackers!"
Carter loves anything that he can drive.  He is all boy.

Driving the tractor

"Daddy, that was fun, but I'm very tired."
Lights at the Mesa temple.

Carter was having fun jumping off of the flower beds with daddy.  That was the only way we could get him to smile for a picture after the long day.

Busted!

Thanksgiving Break

The last few weeks have been super busy.  We visited family for Thanksgiving and now we're getting ready for Christmas!  Here are some fun pictures from our trip (and this week too, since we are slackers).

"Exactly how long will this drive be again?"

We stopped for gas in Flagstaff.  Carter wasn't sure what to think of the cold.  The temperature dropped 40 degrees over the two hour drive.

Hiking

"I said no more pictures!"

Emerald Pools--March 2009

The Magic Leaf
(Carter was angry because we wouldn't let him walk around--there were  steep drops off the trail.  This leaf was the only thing that would keep him happy)

"Is it nap time yet?"

Four-wheeling

Learning how to drive the four-wheeler
"Wheeee!"
Time to get off.
"Don't!"

Fishing
The mighty fisherman triumphs!

"Sit back dad, I'll show you how it's done."

"You guys are too slow.  I can do it myself!"

Carter loved running up and down this ramp.
"Can we get one of these at our house?'

Sing along with Carter

"Helping" Grammy with the dishes

Becoming a Fruit Ninja.  Hi-ya!

This is the best picture we could get of Carter and Daddy's matching outfits.

Introducing....JT4
(Carter decided to add himself as a new contact in Uncle Jess' phone.  He selected as his alias, JT4)

Getting Ready for Christmas

Our neighbor gave Carter this awesome power wheels car.

Not the best picture but this is us before our ward Night in Bethlehem.  Dad decided since he is the ward  financial clerk he should be Caesar.

Halloween!

For our avid fans, aka both sets of grandparents, sorry there wasn't a blog last week.  Blame Century Link.  Here is the latest round of cute pictures of Carter...and we're in some of them too.

Curse these blasted chickenpox!
This was taken during the chickenpox incident as well.  Carter desperately needed to get out , so we took him to look at the lights.  Okay we just took him outside and he found a light.  He seemed to enjoy himself.

Carter loves technology, but what he loves even better are the cases that hold technology.  This is Carter playing with the camera case.  He also loves to play with dad's iPad case.

Introducing the Rubble family.
The Rubbles and the Flintstones.

Carter trick or treating with Daddy.  Dad carries the candy, Carter eats it, and he doesn't even share.

SKITTLES! I can taste the rainbow! (see no sharing)

"So...we went to random houses, we asked for candy, and they gave it to us.  Why aren't we doing this everyday?"

Carter got invited to a birthday party this week.  He had a great time with the balloons until ....

In a completely unprovoked event, one of the balloons savagely attacked him with explosive force leaving him emotionally and physically scarred.  (Okay, really he just dug his fingernails into the balloon until it popped.  It actually smacked him in the face when it popped and left him with a pretty good sized welt.)

Poor buddy.
